Fairfield Man Wins $100K Cash 5 Prize A Fairfield County man is $100,000 richer after hitting it big on a Cash 5 lottery ticket. James McDonald, of Fairfield, picked up his "big check" on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the state lottery headquarters in Rocky Hills. McDonald, who purchased his ticket at the Cumberland Farms store in Fairfield, matched five numbers to win the game's largest payout.  The odds of matching all five numbers are one in 324,632, lottery officials said. McDonald declined to tell his "lottery" story or have his picture taken.
