Police Issue 73 Tickets In I-684 'Speed Week' Detail “Speed Week” got off to a rousing start this week, as state police troopers doled out scores of tickets during a special speed enforcement detail on I-684 in Westchester. State police issued 57 speeding tickets, five tickets to motorists not wearing seatbelts and 11 other summons for violations of vehicle and traffic law on Thursday. In total, 73 tickets were given out by troopers. According to state police, speeding is listed as a contributing factor in nearly one-third of all fatal crashes in New York State.
