Woman Charged After Crash Sends Five To Hospital, CT State Police Say
A New England woman is facing multiple charges for allegedly driving under the influence and causing a crash in Connecticut that injured five, including two children, state police announced.
On Halloween night last year in New London County, state police troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Pendleton Hill Road in the town of North Stonington that injured a 4, 5, 65, and a 78-year-old, as well as the driver, Mackenzie Balicki, age 26, of Westerly, Rhode Island.

Person Dies From Injuries In Two-Vehicle Fairfield County Crash
One person has died following a horrific two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County.
The crash took place around 11:15 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 26, in Norwalk at the intersection of Westport Avenue and Dry Hill Road.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they immediately attended to the driver of a Geo Prizm sedan who was pinned under the dashboard and had to be extricated, using multiple hydraulic tools, said Sgt. Sofia Gulino, of the Norwalk Police Department.
The driver, a man in his 60s, was rushed to Norwalk Hospital, where he later died, Gulino said.

Trio Accused Of Stealing From Multiple Stores Throughout CT
Three men have been arrested for allegedly stealing large spools of wire at Lowe's stores across Connecticut.
The trio, identified as Daniel Raymond Thomas, age 22, Clarence Gerald Davis, age 22, and 23-year-old Marcus Hunter, all of Fort Worth, Texas, were arrested Wednesday, Nov. 17, in Hartford County when the Southington Police responded to the Lowes Home Improvement, at 500 Executive Blvd S., on a report of a theft of large spools of wire in progress.

Fairfield County Woman Asleep In Car In Middle Of Roadway Charged With DUI, Police Say
A Fairfield County woman was charged with alleged driving under the influence after falling asleep behind the wheel of her car in the middle of a roadway.
Erica Mazzo, age 34, of Stamford, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 30, after Darien Police responded to Birch Road for a report of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road.
When officers arrived on the scene they found a Honda sedan stopped in the middle of the southbound lane on Birch Road, and Mazzo appeared to be asleep at the wheel, said Sgt. James Palmieri, of the Darien Police.

29-Year-Old Dies After Crash In Fairfield County
A 29-year-old from Westchester County is dead following a crash in Fairfield County.
It happened around 6:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 6, on Route 8 in Shelton, said the Connecticut State Police.
According to state police, Erzsebet Menczel, age 45, of Derby, was driving a Honda CR-V and crashed into John Mateo Oliver, of Yonkers, who was driving a BMW motorcycle.
Oliver was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash closed Route 8 for several hours during an investigation.
The collision remains under investigation.
