'Iconic' Westport Convenience Store To Reopen Elvira’s, a convenience store described as “iconic” to the Westport area, will soon be reopening under new ownership following renovations and rebranding efforts. Renamed as Elvira Mae, the store, which stands opposite Old Mill Beach at 222 Hillspoint Road, is scheduled to open its doors once again on or around Thursday, July 4. Start 9 p.m. Routine: Unlocked Vehicles Stolen, Broken Into In Westport Prompt New Warning Westport police are once again warning residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables after two vehicles were stolen and two more broken into early Tuesday. The two stolen vehicles were taken from the Hillspoint Road area and two other motor vehicles were broken into, according to Westport Police Lt. Jillian Cabana. Credit cards stolen from one vehicle were later used in Stratford.
