CT Man Arrested For Leaving Dog In Hot Car With No Water Or Air, Police Say A 74-year-old Connecticut man has been arrested for cruelty to animals after allegedly leaving his animal in a hot vehicle with no water or air conditioning.  New Haven County resident Michael Cappetoo, of Milford, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 16, after police responded to the Walmart parking lot located at 1365 Boston Post Road on the report of a dog left in a vehicle that appeared to be in distress.  An investigation led to the arrest of Cappetto who is accused of leaving his dog in the car for approximately one hour with no water and no air conditioning.  He was…

CT Woman Arrested For Cruelty To Animals After Dog Dies With Injuries A Connecticut woman has been arrested for cruelty to animals after one of her dogs died with signs of abuse.  Christelle Sommervil, age 41, of Milford, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 8, on a warrant by Milford Police. Sommervil is accused of bringing her deceased dog to the veterinarian. Upon arrival at the vet, it was found that the dog had a strong odor of urine, bruising along the abdomen and body, crusting over the eyes, a pressure sore, and was emaciated, Milford Police said. Sommervil was charged with cruelty to animals and released on a promise to appear ticket.

Man Charged With Animal Cruelty After Dog Found In Hot Car, Police Say A 55-year-old man was issued a misdemeanor summons after officers said he left a dog in a hot car with the windows rolled up in an area parking lot. The incident took place in Fairfield County on Thursday, May 21, when police were notified that a dog was locked in a vehicle with the windows of the car rolled up in New Canaan at the Lumberyard Municipal parking lot. Man Charged With Killing Girlfriend’s Cat In Naugatuck, Police Say A 25-year-old area man was arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend's cat during a domestic dispute. Christopher Monteleone, 25, of Naugatuck, was arrested around 11 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 9, after police responded to an apartment for a reported domestic violence incident, said the Naugatuck Police. Animal Control Officials Trying To Determine Who Threw Cat Off Bridge Boy Rescued Update:  Animal welfare officials are investigating leads to determine who threw the cat a boy rescued off a bridge in the area, according to Bridgeport Animal Control. "We have found out that it is a neighborhood cat (stray) that many people recognize. We are continuing to look at the cameras on local businesses and homes," said spokesperson for the shelter.
