A man dressed in dark clothing was caught by troopers allegedly attempting to break into Connecticut State Police vehicles. The incident took place in Hartford in the rear parking lot of Troop H on Washington Street on Tuesday, Dec. 27. A woman was arrested for allegedly attempting to cash a check for $4,500 after bank officials found she was using fake identification. Madelin Rodriguez, age 32, of the Bronx, was arrested by police around noon on Saturday, Aug. 7 at the People's United Bank in Wilton. A 76-year-old man was arrested for allegedly attempting to steal two pairs of eyeglasses from a Fairfield County store. Elpidio Rojas, of the Bronx, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 27, in New Canaan after police responded to the Eyes on Elm store at 146 Elm St., for a report of attempted larceny. A 49-year-old man was busted in Fairfield County for attempting to cash a fraudulent check. Johnny Rivera, of New Haven, was arrested on Monday, Jan. 4, at Union Saving Bank in Monroe for charges involving fraudulent activity, said Monroe Police Lt. Stephen Corrone.
