Train, Tractor-Trailer Involved In CT Collision An Amtrak passenger train and a tractor-trailer were involved in a crash in Connecticut. The collision occurred in New Haven County at a railroad crossing on Sackett Point Road in North Haven at 5:50 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9.  North Haven Police said an investigation is underway, and commuters are asked to avoid the area and expect delays. Only minor injuries were reported, North Haven Police said. A train engineer was hospitalized. Man Falls On Train Tracks In Fairfield County Rolls Under Amtrak Train, MTA Says A man who fell on the tracks at a Fairfield County train station was lucky and was able to roll under an Amtrak train. The incident occurred in Bridgeport at around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the train station at 525 Water St.  According to Dave Steckel with the Metropolitan Transportation Administration, the unidentified man rolled under the Amtrak train and did not make contact. A preliminary investigation reveals the man sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Steckel said.  This is a developing story.
