Cop Involved In Danbury Shooting Of Knife-Wielding Suspect Shot, Killed Another Man Last Year
A Danbury Police officer who shot and wounded a knife-wielding man last week also shot and killed another man threatening police with a knife last year.
Officer Alex Relyea, was identified Tuesday by Connecticut State Police as the officer who shot Aaron Bouffard, 31, on Wednesday, July 3, as he threatened numerous people with large butcher knives.
Relyea also shot and killed Paul Arbitelle on Dec. 29, 2018, after threatening officers and his mother with a knife, police said.

The identities have been released for the two police officers who encountered an armed man at an apartment complex last month and ended up shooting and killing him, as well as wounding his mother.
Regina Guss and Alex Relyea have been identified as the Danbury Police officers involved in the shooting death of Paul Arbitelle, 45, of Danbury, and wounding his mother, Linda Arbitelle, after he threatened them with a knife, said the Connecticut State Police.

Pair Face Drug Charges In Stop By Danbury Police, K-9
Two local men were popped on drug-related charges during a traffic stop by Danbury Police Officer Alex Relyea and his new K-9 partner, Gunner.
Frederico Mateo-Ogando, 21, and Tahjae Roberts, 20, both of Danbury, were arrested around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday after being stopped in the Balmforth Avenue area, said Lt. Mark Williams.
