Victor R. Palmer, 90, Of Peekskill
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Victor R. Palmer, a lifelong Peekskill resident, died on Tuesday, July 7. He was 90.
He was born on Aug. 22, 1924, to Victor and Edna (Delagrange) Palmer.
Palmer was a World War II veteran, and served three tours in the U.S. Air Force.
He worked as a bus driver-custodian for the Lakeland School District for many years until retiring.
His wife, Priscialla died in 2009. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2008.
He is survived by a son, James Palmer and daughter Gail Palmer, and by two grandchildren.

Peter W. Rosenhagen, Sr., 72, Of Yonkers
YONKERS, N.Y. – Peter W. Rosenhagen, Sr., a longtime resident of Yonkers, died on Wednesday, July 8. He was 72.
Rosenhagen was born in Manhattan to William and Mildred Rosenhagen.
He served in the Marine Corps from 1961 to 1964 and then went to work as a lineman for Verizon.
Rosenhagen is survived by his wife, Marilyn, three children, Theresa McBreen and her husband, Larry, Carol, Peter and his wife, Suzanne, and granddaughters Faith and Mia.
Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., at 732 Yonkers Ave. in Yonkers.

Rosaria Calvello, 79, Of Yonkers
YONKERS, N.Y. – Rosaria Calvello, a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Thursday, July 9. She was 79.
Calvello was born on Nov. 18, 1935, in Acerno, Italy, to Generoso and Donatella (Vece) Boniello.
Calvello is survived by her children, Anthony and his partner, April Stuetz, Fred and his wife, Christine, Michael and his partner, Kimberly Philburn, Mario and his wife, Maria, and John and his wife, Michelle, and grandchildren Julianna, Leah, Autumn, Alyssa, Christopher, Jacob and Amber.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Austin.

YONKERS, N.Y. – Helen (Straus) Jelinek, of Yonkers, died on Monday, July 6 of ALS. She was 66.
She worked at Woolworth's in Cross County.
Jelinek is survived by her husband, Stanley, daughter Helen, son Stanley and his wife,,.,,m Traci, and grandson PeeWee.
Visiting hours will be on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Flynn Memorial Home in Yonkers.

Paula Astrolko Domestico, 70, Of Port Chester
PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Paula Astrolko Domestico, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died on Sunday, July 5, while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She was 70.
Domestico graduated from Good Counsel Academy in White Plains and Nazareth College in Rochester.
She taught at Horton School and later worked for Strauss Paper Company, both in Port Chester.
She is survived by her son, Gregory, her daughter-in-law, Lea, and grandson Thomas.
Domestico was predeceased by her husband, Gary.

Matthew John 'Matt' Merchant, 53, Of Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Matthew John "Matt" Merchant, of Fairfield, died on Monday, July 6. He was 53.
Merchant was born on Dec. 13, 1961, in Shaker Heights, Ohio to Chuck and Rosemary Merchant.
He graduated from Shaker Heights High School, Miami University of Ohio and Case Western Reserve University.
Merchant began work at GE Capital in 1999, earning praise for his ability to streamline communication from Forbes Magazine. He would eventually hold the positions of CTO and Global Managing Director.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Milton Enoch Forstrom. of Fairfield, died at The Carolton in Fairfield on Monday, July 6. He was 88.
Forstrom was born in Bridgeport on March 2, 1927, to Enok and Rosa Soderberg Forstrom.
He attended Maplewood School and Bassick High School, playing basketball and football before leaving Bassick in January 1945 to join the Navy during World War II.

Kontos was born on Sept. 13, 1918, to Emmanuel and Diamond Karas in Thomasville, Conn.
