After I-95 Crashes, AAA Reminds Connecticut Drivers To Slow Down, Move Over FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The nation's most recognizable agency automobile agency is urging drivers to slow down and drive more cautiously on Interstate 95 after a half-dozen collisions or near-collisions on Connecticut interstates in the first two months of the year. Bethel School District Plans Parents University BETHEL, Conn. -- The Bethel School District will host a Parent University at Bethel Middle School on Thursday, Feb. 23. The event runs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The presentation provides parents and caregivers with information and skills to promote their children's academic, social and emotional growth and development. Bridgeport Police Charge Fairfield Podiatrist With DUI BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport police charged a Fairfield podiatrist with DUI on Friday after he posted a blood-alcohol level test that was more than twice the legal limit, according to a story on ConnPost.com. Dr. Amarjit Chhatwal, who works for a Fairfield business, was found slumped in his car at the intersection of Maplewood and Hancock Avenues. Stamford Seventh-Grader Heads To Robotics Finals STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford seventh-grade student in a middle school robotics program has helped her team qualify for a prestigious New York tournament. Wendy Lichtenberg of Stamford helped her team at Harvey Middle School in Katonah, N.Y. qualify for the VEX IQ Challenge state-qualifier competition at East Rockaway High School on Long Island. Norwalk Neighbors Donate Nearly $3K For Homeless Man Devoted To His Dog NORWALK, Conn. -- Neighbors and friends donated nearly $3,000 on Friday to support a Norwalk homeless man who refuses to move into a shelter because he would have to leave his dog. The outpouring of support came after a Daily Voice story detailed the story of "Joe" and his dog, Bronson, who live out of a van at a parking lot on Main Avenue.
