WILTON, Conn. -- Retesting for radon in Wilton schools will begin next week and will take place in two phases.
The first phase will be conducted at Miller-Driscoll School from Wednesday, Feb. 19 to Friday, Feb. 21. The second phase will take place between Wednesday, March 5, and Friday, March 7, and will be conducted at Cider Mill, Middlebrook and Wilton High School.
Superintendent Gary Richards said the testing will be conducted by EnviroPlan, a subcontractor of Cardno ATC.
"ATC is a highly reputable national firm that has been in existence for 30 years. They have a reputation for integrity and will be working with us to make sure we adhere to all testing protocols," Richards said in a statement. "Once we receive the report on this retesting, we will share the information with the community."
In addition to the radon testing, the district is in the process of identifying an independent 3rd party firm to review the testing of Miller-Driscoll School and provide recommendations for further action.
Once the review and testing are completed, the results will also be shared with the Board and the school community.
