Wilton Students Advance in National Merit Program

WILTON, Conn. – Eight Wilton High School students have been named finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Simon C. Brewer, Eleanor Clifford, John D. Co-Reyes, Cathryn E. Duemmler, William S. Jankowski, David J. Lourd, Leila Mgaloblishvili and Kendric D. Schefers competed with more than 15,000 students across the country.

To become a finalist, the student must have excellent grades and a qualifying SAT score, be endorsed by the principal, write an essay about themselves and participate in school and community activities. 

These students are now eligible for National Merit Scholarship recognition, which will be awarded in spring 2012.
