WILTON, Conn. – Eight Wilton High School students have been named finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Simon C. Brewer, Eleanor Clifford, John D. Co-Reyes, Cathryn E. Duemmler, William S. Jankowski, David J. Lourd, Leila Mgaloblishvili and Kendric D. Schefers competed with more than 15,000 students across the country.

To become a finalist, the student must have excellent grades and a qualifying SAT score, be endorsed by the principal, write an essay about themselves and participate in school and community activities.
