WILTON, Conn. -- Robert Napoleon, the town's animal control officer, has retired after more than 33 years on the job.
According to a Facebook post by the Wilton Police Department, Napoleon recently received a plaque from Police Chief Robert Crosby in recognition of his service.
"We wish him all the best in his retirement," the department said in the post Friday, which by the following morning had been "liked" by nearly 30 Facebook users.
Several who saw the announcement on the social media site took a moment to offer Napoleon congratulations.
"Best wishes in your retirement, Bob," wrote Facebook user Colleen O'Brien. "Thank you so much for your many years of service to Wilton. You will be missed."
