The incident happened last Wednesday morning after police were called to the Whitewood Lane apartment of James Burleson, who reported that his car had been stolen, police said.
As the responding officer questioned Burleson about the car, police said he became aggravated. Burleson yelled: You (police) stole my guns in 2004 and youre not going to get away with it, I should just shoot you, the arrest report said.
Burleson was taken into custody and held on a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Oct. 15.
Police said Burleson has had past involvements with the department and was known to possess firearms.
Following the arrest, police executed a firearms risk warrant and searched Burlesons apartment. No firearms were found inside the apartment, police said.
