Wilton Workshop Pampers Skin and Palates

WILTON, Conn. – Wilton residents sipped tea, nibbled cupcakes and received a lesson on natural skin care at a workshop Thursday at the town's Babycat Milkbar.

Advice on caring for sensitive skin and eczema and product samples were dispensed by Patrcia Butter of Pleasantville, N.Y., founder of of the skin care line Buttercup & Jake. Butter launched her business after discovering that the calendula flowers picked from her backyard contain a waxy substance that was a natural treatment for her dry, cracked skin.

Weston resident Jennifer Roh said that she learned a lot from the workshop and was given handouts with links on different ingredients used in Butter's samples.

“We ate delicious macaroons, cupcakes and cookies and sipped gourmet coffee and teas,” Roh said. The sweets and drinks were provided by Milkbar.

Owner Jeena Choi said the Milkbar is a community place for people to gather and do workshops or author readings. Thursday's event was one of the first workshops, she said.
