The owners of Tony's Corner Deli at 622 Main St., in Ridgefield, announced on Facebook on Saturday, March 23, that they were walking away from the business.

"We want to thank all of our customers for the last 14 years for your patronage," Rosely and Domenick said. "It’s been a pleasure serving this community and we have endured some beautiful friendships with our customers and will cherish them forever."

The couple said COVID brought the business to its knees and they could never fully recover.

"We were so optimistic that we would ride the wave and come out on top again," they added.

The restaurant, which is known for its friendly and fast service, has been on the market for more than a year.

Customer David Brady said on Facebook: "First, thank you both. Your deli was part of Ridgefield’s charm. I was a regular there since you opened. To quote Robert Frost, “Nothing gold can stay."

Calls to Tony's for comment were not returned.
