WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Chamber of Commerce presents "Eggs & the Economy" on Tuesday at Marly's, beginning at 8 a.m.

Nicholas Perna, chief economist of Webster Bank, returns as this year's keynote speaker. The Chamber's Economic Forecast Breakfast is an annual look at how the financial landscape is shaping up for the coming year.

“We are eager to hear an expert like Dr. Perna comment about the 2014 economic results and what is expected in 2015 for the housing market, the future for small businesses, and whether political changes in Connecticut will affect our economic climate," Chamber President Patrick Russo said in a statement. "Dr. Perna will also answer questions on the best investment strategies in the coming year.”

Perna is a magna cum laude graduate of Boston College and holds a doctorate in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His economic backgrounds include time with General Electric, The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Connecticut National Bank and the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.

Perna has served on the faculties of Williams College and New York University’s Stern School of Business. He currently teaches a course on the U.S. banking systems at Yale and is a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. In 2002, he assumed his current position as economic adviser to Webster Financial Corp.

Cost for the Chamber’s Economic Forecast Breakfast is $35 per chamber member and $40 per future member. Reservations are required. To RSVP, click here. For more information, call the chamber at 203-762-0567.
