Burgers here are an experience, says Jessica Ryan, who handles publicity for the restaurant.

Craft 14 dishes up charred tomatoes, warm cheese sauce and a fried egg piled on the beef patty. Its plate of chicken with waffles is anything but ordinary, mainly for the cheddar cheese waffle they serve with the fried chicken.

Lighter fare, however, includes a lobster roll or lobster salad from a small plates menu.

"It's a good place to bring families and dates or go in for happy hour, they stay open all day," she said.

The owners opened Craft 14 in August, she said. It's their second Wilton Restaurant — they also own Bianco Rosso at151 Old Ridgefield Road.

"They wanted to have comfort food at Craft 14. I call it New England pub meets Southern comfort. Everything's a twist, nothing ordinary," Ryan said. "The tuna roll, for example, is not made with rice or seaweed, but with a phyllo wrapper. It has avocado and lime."

The lobster salad is a lunchtime favorite with patrons. "It's juicy lobster meat with tiny bits of bacon, arugula and cherry tomatoes with a lovely citrus dressing."

Also popular for lunch and dinner are fish tacos, which Craft 14 makes with several kinds of fish, including Branzini (Mediterranean sea bass), adding avocado and corn, among "puckery flavors," Ryan said.

Craft beers, cocktails, and wine round out the beverage menu. The restaurant has a bar and is open for Happy Hour.
