Lifeguard From Fairfield County Rescues Three In Canoe At the end of a long day on the beach, a 22-year-old lifeguard at a local beach club saved three fishermen who had capsized the canoe off Shippan Point. The event took place around 8 p.m. Saturday about 100 yards offshore of Woodway Beach Club, when lifeguard Morgan Carson of New Canaan saw what he thought was three men struggling in the water just off the point, said Stamford Police Sgt. Kevin Fitzgibbons.
