With temperatures expected to rise in the coming days, beaches in Westport, Norwalk, and Fairfield were forced to be closed to swimming as health officials deal with a weekend sewage leak. On Monday, Aug. 5, tests determined that waters were not safe for swimming. Swimming areas subjected to the sewage list are expected to be tested again on Tuesday morning. Westport Hosts Free Narcan Training Session Thursday WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Prevention Coalition will host a free Naloxone/Narcan training session on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. at Westport Town Hall. Naloxone is an antidote used to treat opioid overdoses. Ellen Brezovsky, LCSW, Director of Community Relations at Silver Hill Hospital, will facilitate the training. The training session is open to the first 30 registrants, who will learn how to identify an opioid overdose and administer naloxone.
