Westport Firefighters, Animal Control Race To Save Trapped Kittens
A litter of kittens stuck in a storm drain in Fairfield County are lucky firefighters don't give up as they continue to work to rescue the little balls of fur and their mother. The kittens were found in Westport on Monday, Aug. 26, in the storm drain on Post Road. According to the Westport Fire Department, luckily, one kitten has been rescued since Monday, but the mother cat and her kittens trapped in the storm drain pipe at a Post Road business entrance have moved further back into the pipe, which empties into a 12-foot well. Person Exhibiting 'Erratic Behavior' Draws Police To Two Westport Schools
A police department in Fairfield County beefed up security at a pair of area elementary schools after a pedestrian made “idle threats” and was "exhibiting erratic behavior," officials said. A Waterbury man is behind bars after surrendering himself into police custody following his failure to appear for court proceedings involving a forgery arrest. The Westport Police Department announced that Michael McCrorken turned himself in at police headquarters at approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13 on an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear in court for a previous forgery and larceny arrest. WESTPORT, Conn. — A New Haven woman previously banned from all Whole Foods stores was arrested for shoplifting at the Westport location, police said. Brianna Pennell, 34, of George Street, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and first-degree criminal trespass on Saturday.
