EMT Injured In Norwalk Hospital Explosion An EMT was injured when an oxygen tank exploded on a patient's gurney at Norwalk Hospital. The explosion was reported around 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 21, to the Norwalk Fire Department as a fire in the emergency room, said Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Edward Prescott. When firefighters arrived they learned that an oxygen cylinder/regulator exploded on a transport gurney, Prescott said. The gurney was transporting a patient into the emergency room and had two attendants.
