ID Released For Fairfield County Man Found Shot To Death
Police have released the name of a man fatally shot in Fairfield County.
Michael John Bernardo III, age 35, of Bridgeport, was shot around 12:20 p.m., Thursday, April 28 inside the Garcia Mini Market on Newfield Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found the business was locked with no answer at the door. A second call was received around 1:05 p.m. with reports of a possible robbery and a party shot inside, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police.
When officers returned to the market they found Bernardo, who appeared to be shot to death, Gilleran said.

Woman Sentenced To 50 Years For Hiring Cousin To Murder Ex-Husband In Fairfield County
A Fairfield County woman convicted of soliciting two men to fatally gun down her ex-husband has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Larise King, age 36, of Bridgeport, was convicted in May of hiring her cousin and his friend to kill her ex-husband, Dathan "Dae Dae" Gray, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Tracy Lee Dayton, on Wednesday, June 30.
King, who drove the getaway car during the 2019 murder, is not eligible for parole, the judge ruled.

Teen Shot, Killed In Bridgeport Neighborhood
An 18-year-old was shot and killed in Bridgeport.
The man, Yy'quess Moore, of Bridgeport, was found shot to death around 6:15 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, after Bridgeport Police responded to a report of shots fired, said Terron Jones, a spokesman for the department.
When police arrived on the scene, they found Moore, lying in a driveway on Newfield Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds, said Capt. Brian Fitzgerald.
Moore was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives processed the crime scene and are working to determine a motive for the shooting.

21-Year-Old Man Shot To Death In Bridgeport's First Homicide Of The Year
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A 21-year-old Bridgeport man who was shot to death early Tuesday is the city's first homicide victim of the year, police said.
At 12:28 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired at The Snack Shop at 604 Newfield Ave., according to a police statement.
Before officers arrived, the victim had been transported to Bridgeport Hospital by private car, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The victim was identified as Jawuan Green, of 61 Read St., police said. He had turned 21 on Sunday.
A crime scene was located in and around The Snack Shop, police said.
