Stamford Health Care Provider Sentenced For Million-Dollar Fraud Scheme
A health care provider in Fairfield County will spend time in prison after being found guilty by a federal jury in Connecticut of a million-dollar fraud scheme. Kwasi Gyambibi, of Stamford, was found guilty of two counts of health care fraud-related to fraudulent prescriptions for compound drugs that were submitted to Advantage Pharmacy in March 2015 to the tune of $1.5 million in February last year. A former physician at Stamford Hospital will spend time in prison for her role in a compound prescription fraud scheme. Kakra Gyambibi, 38, formerly of Connecticut, has been sentenced to three months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud in January.
