Fairfield County Woman Caught After Stealing 84-Year-Old's Purse, Police Say
Police nabbed a woman who ripped off a purse from an 84-year-old woman in May. Denise Purciello, 59, of Orange, was arrested Thursday in connection with the theft and use of the woman's credit card, according to Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango. The theft occurred while the elderly woman was shopping on May 8 at the ShopRite store in Shelton and had her purse in her cart, Bango said. The victim immediately called her bank to cancel her credit cards, only to learn that her card was already used at TJ Maxx on Bridgeport Ave., he added.
