Bear Shot, Killed After Fatal Attack On Dog, CT State Police Say A black bear had to be put down after killing a dog before setting its sights on a Connecticut state police trooper. Connecticut State Police troopers were dispatched to a Bradley Road home in Burlington shortly before 1:45 p.m. on Monday, May 20, when a resident reported the black bear had attacked and killed her dogs.
