The list took all cities with 25,000 people or more into account and ranked them based on the number of violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Violent crimes include armed robbery, murder, rape and aggravated assault. Bessemer, Alabama ranked as America’s most dangerous city. At the number 58 spot is Connecticut’s capital city of Hartford.
