Police officers made a rescue of a feline kind after three newborn kittens were found abandoned at a Fairfield County post office. The rescue took place around 6:45 a.m., Saturday, July 11, when New Canaan Police officers responded to the New Canaan Post Office for a report of a suspicious box on the landing dock. Rise In Abandoned Pets Reported By Ridgefield Police
With the dog days of summer fast approaching, the animal shelters in Fairfield County have seen a rapid rise in abandoned pets being left at the door. The Ridgefield Police Department issued an alert this week noting that the local shelter, as well as animal shelters in surrounding towns, have seen several incidents of pets being left at the door, abandoned.
