Staples Girls Lacrosse Hosts Clinic Fundraiser

WESTPORT, Conn. – The Staples High School girls lacrosse teams are hosting a lacrosse clinic Wednesday afternoon for girls in elementary and middle school. The event will raise money for planned improvements to the girls lacrosse and field hockey field at Staples.

The clinic is open to girls from first- through eighth-grades who are interested in developing their lacrosse skills with players on the Staples varsity and junior varsity teams. To ensure safety, participants will be grouped by age level and skill.

The cost is $35 per girl. Proceeds will benefit the Tame the Hill Project, which aims to add seating and safe access to the Ginny Parker field at the high school.

The clinic will be held in the Staples Field House from 2 to 4 p.m. Walk-in registration will begin at 1:30 p.m., but participants are encouraged to pre-register by contacting Kim Cooper at kimmurraycooper@aol.com.

Participants must bring a lacrosse stick, eye guard, mouth guard and a water bottle. All girls will be given a “Tame the Hill” t-shirt.
