Tyler Colby, a former football star at Joel Barlow High School in Redding, received the Fairfield County Sports Commission's Sportsperson of the Year award last month from the Fairfield County Sports Commission. Colby, who currently plays football at Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I., could not attend the festivities, which were held at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich. His father accepted the award on his son's behalf.
