Greens Farms Overpowers Wooster

The Greens Farms Academy boys basketball team overpowered previously unbeaten Wooster School of Danbury, 75-37, behind 27 points and 11 rebounds from Sean Obi and a standout defensive effort.

The Dragons' Christian Papic, Hunter Eggers, Kam Mickens, C.J. Smith, Chris Morency and Dan Chase handcuffed Wooster's Marcell McCollough, an All-New England selection, as well as Bobby Ciralli and Kyle Scheine, Wooster's All-Hudson Valley stars. McCollough finished with a season-low eight points. Scheine did not score.

Chase added 23 points for GFA, which improved to 9-3 and is undefeated since the calendar flipped to January.

Eggers was a multidimensional star for GFA, shutting down the New England All Star, sharing floor general duties with Smith and scoring 12 points. Brien Comey and Will Pavlis filled every column of the stat sheet, while frustrating Ciralli in the paint.

GFA hosts the Hyde School of Woodstock on Monday and then attempts to continue its ascent up the FAA standings with a home game against the Masters School on Thursday and a trip to New Haven for a rematch against the Hopkins School on Saturday.
