Easton School Spending Plan Ready for Review

EASTON, Conn. – Easton’s Superintendent of Schools Bernard Josefsberg will find out Tuesday night whether the Board of Education will approve his $15.8 million spending plan.

The budget proposal covers Helen Keller Middle School and Samuel Staples Elementary School.

Cuts to the budget are expected after David Underberger, school board chairman, said the town’s Board of Finance has requested that town departments ask for no more than a 3 percent increase. Under Josefsberg's plan, he is seeking a 4.13 percent increase over the current year’s spending.

The board will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Helen Keller Middle School.
