Easton PTA Looks for Young Artists

EASTON, Conn. – Calling all young Picassos: The Easton PTA is looking for students to explain what diversity means to them through a variety of art mediums as part of the nationwide Reflections Program.

The program, which is open to students from prekindergarten to the eighth grade, allows students to submit more than one entry in six artistic areas, including visual arts, literature, photography, dance choreography, musical composition and film production. This year’s theme is “What Diversity Means to Me.”

Winners of the Easton competition will go on to compete at the regional and then possibly the state level. Then the best-of-the-best will head to the national competition. Winners heading to the national level can win the Outstanding Interpretation Award, Award of Excellence, Award of Merit and Honorable Mention.

All entries are compared with children in the same grade division. 

To participate, entries must be submitted to the main office at Samuel Staples Elementary School and Helen Keller Middle School by Jan. 4 at 3:30 p.m. For an official entry form and contest rules, visit www.PTAreflections.org.
