Westport Woman Charged With Assault, Attempting To Stab Man With Scissors

WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Westport woman faces an assault charge after she attempted to stab a man during a dispute at a residence on Sipperly Hill, police said.

Patricia Medina, 43, was charged with charged with third-degree assault  and disorderly conduct.

When Westport Police responded to a disturbance on Feb. 3 at about 3:30 p.m., officers saw numerous broken objects on the ground, broken furniture and various other items thrown around the house. 

A man told police he and Medina had been arguing. The victim said that Medina began throwing objects around the house while yelling and screaming at him, police said. 

The victim reported that while they were arguing, she punched and kicked him, police said. She also grabbed a pair of scissors and attempted to stab him, police said. The victim sustained minor injuries. She was held on $2,500 bond for a Feb. 6 court date.
