Norwalk Woman Accused Of Stealing From Cars In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. -- A 40-year-old Norwalk woman is facing burglary and larceny charges after Fairfield police discovered several GPS units and other items in her car while investigating a minor crash, and determined the units had been taken from parked cars Saugatuck Elementary School in Westport, police said.

Jessica Sullivan is being held on $5,000 bond charged with third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle and sixth-degree larceny from a motor vehicle, police said. Fairfield police told Westport officers that she admitted taking the GPS units from cars parked near the school, police said.

During the course of investigating a car crash, Fairfield police called Westport police around 4 p.m. Nov. 15 to let them know that officers found several GPS units and electronic devices in the woman's car. One of the units was traced to a victim whose car was parked at the school earlier in the day, police said.

She is due in court Nov. 24 at Norwalk Superior Court, police said.
