Bronx Man Charged With Identity Theft In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. —  A 29-year-old Bronx, N.Y., man accused of committing bank fraud in Westport was arrested on identity theft and forgery charges, police said.

Meischan Mamby is suspected of defrauding the TD Bank branch on Charles Street in 2010 and 2011, police said. He was arrested Friday on a warrant after he was released from Bridgeport Correctional Center, where he was held on unrelated charges, police said.

Mamby was charged with second-degree identity theft, first-degree forgery and third-degree larceny, all felonies. He was released after posting $20,000 bond and is set to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 13.
