Irene Nale, 84, Retired Westport Nurse

WESTPORT, Conn. – Irene Nale of Westport died July 13 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was 84. 

She was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Bridgeport to Michael and Catherine Miksza. Nale and her husband, John S. Nale, moved to Westport in 1948 into a home built by her father. She was a communicant of St. Luke Catholic Church in Westport. 

Nale worked as a surgical nurse at Norwalk Hospital and then as a private duty nurse at Carlton Convalescent Hospital in Fairfield for 25 years. She retired in 1996. Nale enjoyed needlepoint, yellow roses, watching "Everybody Loves Raymond" and going to Walmart. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, John. She is survived by a sister, Helena Malve, of Clearwater, Fla.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Church. Burial will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield.
