Teen Faces Shoplifting Charge in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – A Fairfield teen was arrested in Westport last Thursday after she was caught stealing from a downtown clothing store, police said.

Anne Magee, 19, was spotted by a clerk at ODDZ on Main Street stealing a skirt valued at $44, police said. The clerk told police that Magee removed the skirt's sensor tag before placing it in her purse. Magee was given a misdemeanor summons for sixth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear in court July 25.

? Fairfield resident Gerritt Graham was charged with drunken driving in Westport on Friday morning after he was spotted driving erratically on Maple Avenue North, police said. Graham, 40, was weaving in and out of his traffic lane and crossed the double yellow centerlines, police said. When Graham was stopped, the officer smelled alcohol inside the car. Graham refused to take breath tests but failed field sobriety tests. He was charged with driving under the influence, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to drive in the proper lane. He was released after posting $500 bond and is due in court July 25.

? John McNamara, 19, of Fairfield, was caught with alcohol in Westport on Sunday after he was pulled over for having expired license plates, police said. When McNamara was stopped, the officer saw two 40-ounce containers of Budweiser beer in the car. McNamara was given an infraction ticket for possession of alcohol by a minor and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
