Resident Author Will be Remembered

Westport resident Craig J. Maloon, co-author of a recently published book, died at his home Thursday. He was 59 years old.

Craig was born June 23, 1951, in Greenville, Ohio, to the late James H. and Frances (Trick) Maloon but had lived in the area for the past 43 years. He was a 1969 graduate of Staples High School and a graduate of Sacred Heart University, where he earned a degree in accounting.

Under the pen name CK Kake,  Craig co-authored the book, "Why Not Try God." Published in April, the book details his life struggles and return to God. He was a member of the Baha'i faith.

Craig is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth M. Terhaar of Danbury and Sharon Olson of Roswell, Ga.; brother Douglas Maloon of Bel Air, Md.; and four nephews and a grandnephew.

Craig will be missed by his family and friends and will be remembered for his gentleness, sense of humor, humility and strive to always better himself.

A funeral service is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road E. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery on Main Street in Newtown.
