Easton, Conn. -- Alexander Bardani, 21, of Sunset Hill Road in Redding was arrested June 18 on charges of driving under the influence and speeding. Bardani was pulled over for driving 78 mph in a 40 mph zone, Easton Police report. The officer then asked Bardani to do a field sobriety test, which he failed. Bardani was released on a $50 bond and is due in court June 27.

? Police shot and killed a deer on June 18 after it broke its leg on Fawn Road trying to jump a fence.
? An M87 grenade was turned in to the Easton Police Department on June 16. The State Police Bomb Squad identified it as a non-functioning rocket-propelled grenade and disposed of it.
