WESTON, Conn. If youre looking for a local farmers market with a national identity, check out the Norfield Grange on Good Hill Road any Saturday this spring, where youll find farm-fresh produce, seafood, baked goods, live plants and an assortment of friendly vendors eager to satisfy your needs.
The national identity has its ties to the Grange, a farmers alliance that was founded in the 1880s and continues to operate today with 56 groups in Connecticut.
Westons Grange was originally located on Norfield Road but was moved to a building on Good Hill Road that was restored by farmers. The building hosts community events, with the farmers market held in the yard.
Farmers markets are held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday until June 9. Summer farmers markets will be held at the Weston Historical Society. Then the Norfield Grange will host markets from the first weekend in October through next June.
