Car Break-Ins Continue in Weston

Despite warnings from Weston Police Detective Carl Filsinger last week, four more cars were broken into early Monday.

The break-ins, all to cars parked in driveways on Overbrook Lane off Goodhill Road, bring the total to nine this month. GPSs, keys and cell phones were stolen and purses were searched, according to Filsinger.

"I am advising all residents not to keep valuables in cars, to keep cars locked, use alarms, or keep cars garaged," said the detective, who encouraged residents to install motion sensor lights outside their homes.

"Report all suspicious activity, suspicious cars and suspicious persons to our department. If possible, obtain descriptions of persons and vehicles. A registration plate number is useful, but usually the most difficult to obtain," he said.

Filsinger advises never to confront anyone who is breaking into your or a neighbor's car, but to call police instead.

Similar break-ins occurred on White Birch Road, Great Hill Road, Jana Drive and Deer Path Road.
