Westport Y Offers Lifeguard Training This Spring

WESTPORT, Conn. – Attention Westport students: Earn some serious dough while helping keep people safe this summer by becoming a certified lifeguard.

The Westport Weston Family Y is offering a lifeguard certification course for people 15 and older next month. The course will emphasize practical lifesaving skills and job-related responsibilities. Standard first aid and CPR/AED training are included.

The course will be held at the Family Y May 12 and 19 from noon to 7 p.m., and May 13 and 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants must be strong swimmers and attend all four classes. Participants should also bring a lunch and bathing suit.
