Gillespie Center is a 15-bed men’s homeless shelter located at 45 Jesup Road. It is a part of Homes With Hope, a 501(c)(3) that is a “local grassroots response to the tragedy of homelessness… (it provides) food, safe emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, and the case management needed to achieve a more independent and self-sufficient life.”
Club members, joined by Homes With Hope employees, will be available at both entrances to provide shoppers with a list of preferred items and to gather and deliver items donated by shoppers.
Jeff Wieser, Homes With Hope’s president and CEO, said, “Sunrise Rotary's food drive supports the Gillespie Center Food Pantry needs throughout the winter and serves hundreds of needy people right here in our community. It is a vital support for us, and we look forward to this event every year.”
Mario Sá Couto, chair of the club’s Hands-On Committee, added, “Sunrise Rotary has been a long-time supporter of Homes With Hope, and, with continued community support, we look forward to making the food drive even more successful this year.”
