WESTPORT, Conn. --  There's a popular catch-phrase: “Know your farmers, know your food." And there's nowhere better to get up close and personal with your local purveyors than with a farmers market.

You picked five among the best in Fairfield County, each of which will be profiled this week.

Go here to vote for your favorite; you can only vote once.

The DVlicious contest ends 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 with the winner announced at the end of the month. Below is the "dirt" on one of the finalists.

Westport Farmers Market, 50 Imperial Ave., Westport

Hours of Operation: Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Goes Until: Nov. 5

Vendors You’ll Find: Expect to see from 29 to 31 vendors per week. Some of them include Sport Hill Farm, Tapas Box, The Stand Juice Company, King's Kitchen, Fort Hill Farm, SoNo Baking Co., and Beltane Farm.

Of Special Note: Tables and chairs are set underneath a tent so shoppers can enjoy and dine on their finds in the shade.
