The first workshop in the series, scheduled for March 3 from 12:30 to 3 p.m., will cover the basics of planning the garden. Specifically, the workshop will cover garden types and designs, vegetable selection, creating a planting schedule, creating a garden layout and soil basics. This workshop will be led by Wakeman Town Farm steward Mike Aitkenhead.

The second workshop, scheduled for March 9 from 10 a.m. to noon, will focus on starting your own seedlings indoors. This workshop will be led by veteran gardener Annaliese McCay, who will get you started with a tray of seeds to bring home.

Each workshop costs $25 when registering online in advance and $30 the day of the event. However, space is limited to 20 participants, so early online registration is encouraged.
