WESTPORT, Conn. -- Financial advisor Ed Hynes will give an update on the new Social Security rules passed last November on Monday, Feb. 29 at the Westport Library.
The program will address how the new rules might affect people and their plans for retirement, and will include a discussion of various strategies for collecting Social Security. For those born in 1953 or earlier, there could be important decisions to be addressed before the May 2016 deadline. For those born in 1954 or later, a re-evaluation of strategies may be necessary.
Hynes, CFA, is a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch. He has more than 35 years of experience in financial services.
The program will be held at 7 p.m. in the Westport Library’s McManus Room. The program is free and open to the public.
