Cheeky Fly Fishing, which recently moved to Norwalk form Boston, will use Westport Outfitters as its "home shop," to offer fishermen its full line of fly reels covering both fresh and saltwater angling.
“Prior to our move, we had followed local shops in the area and were really impressed with how Westport Outfitters catered to its customer base with a true sense of customer service, access to information about the local fishing scene and beyond and their strong social media presence,” Cheeky Fly Fishing co-founder and CEO Scott Caras said in a statement. “We are very excited to work with [Westport Outfitters owner] Eric [Johnson] and his team to develop a partnership that is much more involved than the traditional relationship between a shop and a manufacturer.
In addition to reels, Cheeky has a line of apparel including hats, shirts, jackets and wading shorts, designed specifically to meet the needs of the company’s core consumer.
To kick off their new relationship, any Cheeky Reel purchased through Westport Outfitters will receive free backing and include a slick Cheeky Pro Cap.
In addition, both companies will be hosting a kickoff event on Wednesday, Sept. 11, starting at 5:30 p.m. at Westport Outfitters. The event will include a barbecue, special deals, prizes, as well as demos of all the reels and a chance to meet the founders of the Company as well as some of its Pro Staff from around the United States.
