Barron’s Names Westport Expert To Top 1,000 Financial Advisers List

WESTPORT, Conn.-- Ira Millman, managing director and private wealth adviser with UBS Financial Services Inc., has been named to the Barron’s 2013 list of Top 1,000 Financial Advisors in America.

This is not the first time that Millman has been named to the prestigious list. He was also named in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Barron’s list of Top 1,000 identifies the industry’s most experienced financial advisers. Typical honorees average 26 years of experience and, according to Barron's, boast a client retention rate of about 98 percent annually. Barron’s list of Top 1,000 focuses on wealthy families with an average net worth of $24 million.

Millman is a founding member of the UBS wealth management advisory council. He also serves as chair of the UBS portfolio management program advisory council. He is also a member of the Investment Management Consulting Association, the Financial Planning Association and the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc.

Millman received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in English literature from Queens College in 1978. In 1998, Millman was designated as a certified investment management analyst by the Wharton School of Business. Recently, Millman was designated as an accredited investment fiduciary analyst by the Center of Fiduciary Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, Katz Business School. He has also been awarded the certified private wealth adviser designation by the University of Chicago, Booth Business School.
