Consumers are being warned by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to immediately stop using two eye drop products because of potential bacterial or fungal contamination that could cause serious health risks. The advisory covers these products distributed by LightEyez Limited: Dr. Berne's MSM Drops 5% Solution, LightEyez MSM Eye Drops – Eye Repair. Eye Drops Tainted With Bacteria Now Linked To 4 Deaths, Dozens Of Infections, CDC Says
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says four deaths and dozens of infections have now been linked to eye drops tainted with bacteria. Patients who have used EzriCare or Delsam Pharma’s artificial tears and Delsam Pharma artificial ointment and who have signs or symptoms of an eye infection should seek medical care immediately, the CDC said. Perdue has announced a recall of thousands of pounds of a popular chicken nugget product after wood was found in some packages nationwide. The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Thursday that Perdue is recalling 68,244 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken nugget products that may be “contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically wood.” According to the FSIS, the contaminated products were produced on Oct. 25 last year.
